The
year is about to finish, and as it happens every year I get from
Spotify my top songs of the year, the ones I listened to the most. And
these are some of them and the memories that bring me up when I listen
to them.
1. La bona gent by Manel
I was not a big fan of this Catalan band but when they released this album I became one of them. I listened to this song in February when I was driving, probably to work, and, from that moment, I played this song over and over in my car. I loved the part when the songwriter Maria del Mar Bonet sings and also the tune of the song. In March I had the opportunity to enjoy their live concert and I had so much fun!
2. Got me by the heart by Immaculate Fools
Last winter, I fell in love and when I listened to this song, I felt that the lyricswere saying exactly what I was feeling. They were so perfect... But because my love story didn't work, I stopped listening to this song because it was too painful.
3. A ver qué pasa by Rigoberta Bandini
In March 2022, many teachers went on strike. In my high school, we joined the strike and most of us went to a demonstration in Barcelona. I don't know why, but when I listen to this song I remember all of us when we were on the train to Barcelona and we were wearing yellow t-shirts.
4. Someone to you by Banners
At the end of the school year 21-22, my class was working on the project Escape Room. One group was preparing its final work and they had to decorate one room. When I got in, Clara Grima and Ot Rodriguez were listening to this song and they were jumping, singing and dancing. They looked so happy and excited!
5. Common People by Pulp
Last summer, my niece Carla came to visit me. She loves music and told me that her favorite song was Common People by Pulp. We watched the video clip, and I thought it was brilliant. The day I watched the video I realized that the lyrics were also great! The singer is an amazing performer.
